About me
A passionate IT support with several years of programming experience and a Systems and Industrial Engineer interested in developing accessible technologies to promote empathy and understanding. I feel as those who have a harder time using new technology are laughed at and made to feel like they are lost, when in reality they are just using unfamiliar technology. Adept at collaborating with diverse teams to incorporate different viewpoints and ensure technological solutions meet the needs of all users.
I have a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, with a minor in Green Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). I also enjoy programming nd have experience with several different languages, including HTML, ++, C sharp, Java, Python, PHP, AWS, and a few other programming languages.
I am very attentive to detail, and I am a very goal-oriented person. Regardless of my job title, I take my work seriously to ensure the best possible outcome for me and the client (if any clients are involved). The most important thing is order is safety, quality, and then quantity. Using this principle and keeping it in mind, quality would never be sacrificed to improve quantity as this would lead to customer or client dissatisfaction.
Systems Engineering
My main focus of study in college was Industrial and Systems Engineering with a minor focus in Green Engineering. Systems Engineering was the area in which I excelled the most and enjoyed the most.
Industrial Engineering
Industrial Engineering was one of my two majors, and it opened my eyes to the Industrial aspect of many different things like food production, factory waste, and other situations that affect everyday life, yet go unnoticed by most people.
Green Engineering
Green Engineering is an area that fascinate me as it raises questions that one would not normally consider. For example, should corn be used to create ethanol, or should the corn be used to help feed those in need in many countries?
HTML
I am a self-taught HTML programmer that has designed several for various people. I have created a wedding site, a website for another friend to start a small business, and other sites with differing purposes. I find coding to be fun and challenging, but HTML allows anyone to see your work.
Java
Java was one of my first programming languages that I learned while I was still in high school. I have created a few programs that were mainly used for school projects, but due to its versatility, I have been able to use it for many things, and it is one of the languages that I am more comfortable with.
Web Development
Overall, I have always been interested in web development. I have taken a few courses on web development as well as having some certifications. To me, finding the flaw within a program or website presents a fun challenge that I am always going to enjoy.
